Overnight I-5 Closures This Week ⚠️

The project, known as I-5 North County Enhancements, is a component of a larger effort to improve the Central Valley-to-Northern California main route of travel.

Starting on Tuesday night, 11/29, the Santa Clarita 5 Freeway will close overnight between the 14 Freeway and Calgrove Boulevard from 10 PM to 4 AM.

The northbound 5 Freeway will be closed between the 14 Freeway and Calgrove Boulevard on Tuesday and Wednesday nights this week.

The same stretch of the southbound 5 Freeway will be closed on Thursday night from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. The nightly closures may be repeated between Tuesday and Thursday of the following week if necessary.

The project includes the addition of a High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) or carpool lane in each direction, an extension of the truck lanes, new sound walls and auxiliary lanes, among other things. Metro anticipates that the project will be finished in 2026.
